Enterprise Search Optimization & Performance Tuning
Design, implement, and optimize SharePoint Search solutions in SharePoint Online and On-Premises to enhance content discovery.
Configure crawling, indexing, and query processing for large-scale enterprise search environments.
Improve search relevance using query rules, ranking models, managed properties, and synonyms.
Optimize search schema and content sources to improve performance and retrieval accuracy.
Troubleshoot crawling failures, indexing bottlenecks, and query latency issues.
Security, Governance & Integration
Ensure search security trimming, permissions filtering, and compliance with access control policies.
Assist in integrating SharePoint Search with Microsoft Search, Azure Cognitive Search, and third-party content repositories.
Implement taxonomy, metadata, and content tagging strategies to improve findability and classification.
Support compliance, retention, and governance policies to maintain search integrity.
Incident Prevention & Monitoring
Conduct proactive search health checks, query analytics, and performance assessments.
Implement search analytics dashboards to monitor search trends, user behavior, and content gaps.
Automate search administration using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and PnP PowerShell.
Optimize SharePoint Search topology, index partitioning, and high-availability configurations.
Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership
Act as a designated SharePoint Search expert, advising enterprise customers on search strategies and best practices.
Lead workshops, training sessions, and hands-on labs on SharePoint Search optimization.
Work closely with IT admins, content managers, and data governance teams to align search experiences with business needs.
Provide custom recommendations on metadata strategies, search query tuning, and enterprise knowledge management.
Collaboration with Microsoft & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with Microsoft’s SharePoint and Microsoft Search engineering teams to provide feedback on search relevance, performance, and security.
Participate in early-access preview programs and customer pilot initiatives to validate new search capabilities.
Contribute to best practice documentation, internal knowledge-sharing, and SharePoint Search governance strategies within REW.
3+ years of experience in SharePoint Search administration, enterprise search engineering, or information architecture.
8+ years working with MS Technologies
English: B2+ or higher
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical end users, ensuring a smooth and efficient resolution of issues.
Hands-on expertise with SharePoint Search, Microsoft Search, and hybrid search deployments.
Strong knowledge of search schema, managed properties, and metadata-driven search.
Experience optimizing search ranking models, query rules, and user experience customization.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for SharePoint Search automation and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Azure Cognitive Search, Graph API, and Microsoft Search integrations.
Experience with search analytics, reporting, and query performance tuning.
Ability to learn fast.
Preferred qualifications
Microsoft Certifications (e.g., MS-600: Building Applications and Solutions with Microsoft 365 Core Services, AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate, MS-700: Managing Microsoft Teams).
Experience with third-party search engines and federated search solutions (e.g., Elasticsearch, Coveo, BA Insight).
Knowledge of machine learning-driven search enhancements and AI-powered recommendations.
Familiarity with SharePoint Online search tuning, content enrichment, and relevance debugging.
Experience implementing enterprise content management (ECM) strategies and metadata taxonomy development.
