Position Overview
REW is seeking an experienced EDE Teams/Teams Phone Engineer to provide proactive engineering support, solution optimization, and incident prevention for enterprise customers leveraging Microsoft Teams and Teams Phone.
As part of REW’s Enhanced Designated Engineering (EDE) offering, you will work closely with enterprise customers to design, deploy, and optimize Microsoft Teams collaboration and telephony solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance. This role is not just about troubleshooting—it’s about proactively improving Teams adoption, optimizing call quality, and driving efficiency in hybrid communication environments.
As a trusted advisor, you will assist customers in Teams governance, security policies, calling plans, direct routing configurations, and Teams Phone integrations while also providing feedback to Microsoft’s Teams product teams to influence future enhancements.
This is a remote-friendly position with flexibility to work from home.
Teams Collaboration & Calling Optimization
Design and implement Microsoft Teams governance policies, security configurations, and compliance strategies.
Assist in Teams deployment, adoption planning, and performance tuning for enterprise organizations.
Configure and manage Teams Phone (Cloud Calling, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, Calling Plans).
Ensure seamless integration with on-premises PBX, SIP trunks, and hybrid telephony solutions.
Optimize Teams meeting performance, voice quality, and network configurations to improve user experience.
Incident Prevention & Performance Monitoring
Conduct proactive health checks, call quality analytics, and Teams performance assessments.
Optimize Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) and conference room deployments for hybrid collaboration.
Automate Teams administration using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API.
Implement Teams security best practices, including DLP, retention policies, MFA, and access control.
Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership
Act as a designated Microsoft Teams expert, helping enterprise customers maximize communication and collaboration efficiency.
Lead workshops, training sessions, and adoption programs to drive Teams and Teams Phone usage.
Work closely with network engineers, security teams, and telecom providers to ensure seamless Teams Phone integration.
Provide technical recommendations for Teams Room systems, headsets, and enterprise VoIP architecture.
Collaboration with Microsoft & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with Microsoft’s Teams engineering teams to provide feedback on Teams and Teams Phone enhancements.
Participate in early-access preview programs and customer pilot initiatives to validate new Teams features.
Contribute to best practice documentation, internal knowledge-sharing, and Teams governance strategies within REW.
3+ years of experience in Microsoft Teams administration, VoIP/telephony engineering, or unified communications.
8+ years working with MS Technologies
English: B2+ or higher
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical end users, ensuring a smooth and efficient resolution of issues.
Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone (Calling Plans, Direct Routing, Operator Connect), and telephony integrations.
Strong knowledge of Teams governance, security policies, and compliance best practices.
Experience with PowerShell scripting for Teams administration and automation.
Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), SIP trunking, Session Border Controllers (SBCs), and PSTN connectivity.
Understanding of network performance optimization for Teams, including QoS, packet loss mitigation, and call analytics.
Ability to learn fast.
Preffered qualifications
Microsoft Certifications (e.g., MS-700: Managing Microsoft Teams, MS-721: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer, AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate).
Experience with third-party Teams Phone integrations (e.g., AudioCodes, Ribbon SBCs, Cisco Webex, Zoom Phone).
Knowledge of Teams API, Graph API, and automation workflows for Teams governance.
Familiarity with Teams Room Systems, direct guest join configurations, and hybrid meeting solutions.
Experience with enterprise VoIP solutions, SIP configurations, and call flow troubleshooting.
